Police have arrested a 37-year-old call taxi driver for throwing stone and killing his father-in-law following a wordy duel at Kavarapet near Gummidipoondi, 45 km from Chennai.

CHENNAI: Police have arrested a 37-year-old call taxi driver for throwing stone and killing his father-in-law following a wordy duel at Kavarapet near Gummidipoondi, 45 km from Chennai.
Police said S Baskar, a resident of Saidapet in Chennai, assaulted and stoned his father-in-law, Appadurai, 50, a resident of Thidir Nagar in Kavarapet in wee hours on Tuesday.

Baskar had gone to his father-in-law's house to bring his wife. However, Appadurai and his family members abused Baskar.
Baskar then attacked Appadurai. Appadurai was taken to a private hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
